Joey “Elmo” St. Amant was a beloved teacher and coach from Biloxi, MS who passed away February 22, 2024 after a battle with ALS.   Joey worked at Biloxi High for 20 plus years where he taught Driver’s Education and coached many sports (football, track, and bowling).  Joey was the type of guy who never met a stranger and loved to be around people.   He was always the life of the party and never said “no” to anyone needing help with anything.  He had a positive impact on so many lives throughout his life.  He truly is missed!  The Team Elmo 200 race is to honor him by raising funds for the ALS Association to hopefully help others fight the disease and possibly FIND A CURE!
